Business Development Director

Vickerstock are delighted to continue our relationship with an established electrical contracting company to support in the recruitment of a Business Development Director to join their team in their offices based in Monaghan.

The successful candidate will be a high-calibre Business Development Director with 10 years' leadership experience, ideally within the Contracting or Engineering Sector.

The Business Development Director will develop and deliver on an innovative sales and commercial strategy for the Organisation.

The objective is to achieve targeted revenue and profit growth levels across a breadth of business areas including existing territories, service delivery and cross-selling opportunities amongst existing and new clients.

Your new role as a Business Development Director

  • Devising and implementing business development strategies, tactics and action plans
  • Leading and managing the development of tenders and proposals to win profitable business
  • Develop and implement best practice strategies and tools across markets to improve performance in all phases of the tender lifecycle - to source, apply, submit, implement and post award - with the aim to make the tender process more efficient and accelerate successful awards
  • Building relationships with clients and industry professionals to understand customer requirements and trends
  • Developing and delivering strategic sales plans (in conjunction with the board of directors) and ensuring that the business is well positioned to achieve annual targets
  • Work closely with the COO regarding the allocation of resources and support to ensure that the company delivers for its clients and that financial and customer targets are achieved

What you'll need to succeed as a Business Development Director

  • Minimum 10 years sales leadership experience, ideally in the Contracting or Engineering
    sector
  • Business, economics, engineering qualification - to degree level, or equivalent
  • Successful track record in a target driven environment
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Demonstrated financial understanding and capability
  • Ability to communicate, present to and influence all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to conduct trend analysis, market monitoring, and results tracking
  • Proven ability to articulate the differentiating aspects of products and services
  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel widely
  • Previous experience of working in a "service delivery" environment
