At Vickerstock, we are delighted to be working with one of the UK's Tier 1 contractors to recruit for the position of Civil Engineer. With a number of specialist divisions including Construction, Civil Engineering and Fit Out, this organisation has the capability and expertise to deliver highly complex projects across the full built environment spectrum. With offices across the UK, this local success story is now one of the UK's largest contractors and continues to go from strength to strength. You will become a valued member of an impressive civil site team. This particular role will be based in Essex, working on projects in Essex and surrounding areas. The first project you will be working on consists of extending a port to include a new berth- valued at £150 million.

Your new role as Civil Engineer

As Civil Engineer, you will demonstrate experience managing one site or a section of a larger site as part of a wider team. It will be your duty to ensure all site activities are undertaken in line with contract requirements and SHEQ policies and procedures. You are responsible for monitoring progress and update the programme, accordingly, including elements of design and procurement. Ensure accurate daily records are maintained and communicated for labour, material, and plant, including subcontractors. It is your job to keep the management team appraised of variations to the works.

What you will need to succeed as Civil Engineer (don't worry you will still be considered if you don't have some/all of these)

• Experience working in a similar role
• Flexibility to travel throughout the UK
• Good knowledge of standard health and safety procedures on site
