EHS Manager
Leading Food Manufacturing / FMCG business
Based in Mid Ulster
Remuneration commensurate with the individual experience
Vickerstock are delighted to be working with a leading Food Manufacturing business in the recruitment of an EHS Manager for their site in Mid Ulster, working as part of a UK wide EHS Team.
The purpose of the role is to develop and review the Health and Safety and Environmental management systems, ensuring that the site is operating at best practice levels at all times.
The successful individual will be expected to provide leadership, support and guidance to the senior management team on areas within their remit.
The ideal candidate should:

  • Hold a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Management, or be willing to study to achieve the same.
  • Previous experience of Health & Safety or Environmental Management in a Manufacturing or FMCG environment would be advantageous.
  • Well-developed communication skills and a high degree of numerical and analytical skills are essential.

Duties:

  • Responsibility for supporting the ongoing maintenance and development of the Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems currently operated and expand as necessary.
  • Develop and implement an annual Health and Safety Plan in conjunction with the HR Manager and the SIte Manager.
  • Provide leadership, support and guidance to the Senior Management Team on Health, Safety and Environmental matters.
  • Participate in project planning and execution to ensure the health and safety dimension of site projects is fully considered at planning stage
  • Liaison with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) to ensure compliance with PPC Permit requirements and also with NI Water to ensure compliance of Waste
  • Chair and take lead of plant Health and Safety Committee Meetings and direct and co-ordinate its members as necessary
  • Produce monthly Health and Safety KPI s, identifying trends and problem areas and possible solutions where necessary
  • Participate and where necessary lead on accident investigations, ensuring appropriate investigations, corrective action and statutory reporting
  • Establish and maintain an effective documentation and recording system for all health, safety related needs
  • Ensure all risk assessments, safe working procedures and emergency arrangements are current and being adhered to by all employees
