Company and Role of Electrical Design Manager

Vickerstock are currently recruiting for Electrical Design Management opportunities within established engineering and manufacturing operations in County Tyrone.

These are excellent opportunities for experienced Electrical Design Managers, Electrical Engineering Managers or strong Lead / Senior Electrical Design Engineers who are ready to take responsibility for a small team while remaining closely involved in the technical side of engineering.

The positions combine people management with hands-on technical leadership. You will take responsibility for the direction and development of Electrical Design Engineers while ensuring designs are practical, compliant and successfully delivered into manufacture.

We are equally interested in speaking with experienced Electrical Design Managers and strong Senior / Lead Electrical Design Engineers who have naturally progressed into mentoring, checking designs and providing technical guidance to other engineers and are now ready to formally step into management.

Key Responsibilities for these Electrical Design Manager positions

Lead and develop a small team of Electrical Design Engineers
Provide technical leadership across electrical design and engineering activities
Allocate and prioritise design work in line with engineering and manufacturing requirements
Review electrical designs, drawings and technical documentation
Remain technically involved in electrical design and engineering problem solving
Ensure designs meet appropriate technical, safety and quality requirements
Support the development and improvement of electrical systems across existing and new products
Work closely with Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, Production and other Engineering personnel
Provide technical support during manufacture, build and testing
Resolve design and production-related electrical engineering issues
Drive improvements in engineering standards, design processes and overall team performance
Mentor and develop engineers within the Electrical Design team

Essential Criteria for these Electrical Design Manager positions

Strong experience within Electrical Design Engineering in a manufacturing, machinery or equipment environment
Experience designing electrical systems for machinery, equipment or manufactured products
Ability to produce and review electrical schematics, drawings and associated technical documentation
Strong understanding of electrical components, control systems and practical electrical engineering
Previous experience leading, mentoring or providing technical direction to other engineers
A third-level qualification within Electrical / Electronic Engineering or another relatable Engineering discipline
Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across Engineering and Manufacturing

Previous formal management experience would be advantageous but is not essential. We are particularly interested in experienced Senior or Lead Electrical Design Engineers who have the technical capability and leadership qualities to make the next step into an Electrical Design Manager position.

Experience within machinery, mobile equipment, heavy engineering, material handling, specialist vehicles, automated equipment or another complex manufacturing environment would be particularly relevant.
