Vickerstock are excited to be partnering with our client, one of Northern Ireland's leading ready meal producers on the appointment of Food Safety & Compliance Manager for their Belfast based site

Reporting to the Director, the successful Food Safety & Compliance Manager will play a critical role and overseer all food safety programs ensuring regulatory compliance across operations.

What your day will look like:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain food safety policies and procedures
  • Lead food safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HACCP and other food safety standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and oversee corrective action plans to address any non-compliance issues.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to food safety protocols and hygiene standards.
  • Train and supervise employees on food safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
  • Stay up to date on evolving food safety laws and industry best practices, updating internal protocols as needed.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance, production, and procurement teams to ensure ingredient and product quality.
  • Investigate food safety incidents or customer complaints, implementing preventive measures to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Prepare and maintain records for compliance reporting and audits.
  • Prepare spec sheets for final products
  • Responsible for organising tests and samples for lab testing on a scheduled basis

What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience in food safety management or compliance roles within the food industry.
  • Education in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with food safety audits and working knowledge of regulatory bodies.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to train and develop staff.
