Job description
Are you an experienced procurement and supply chain leader looking for an opportunity to shape strategy across a growing manufacturing group?
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a well-established manufacturer to recruit a Group Supply Chain Manager. This is a newly scoped leadership position with responsibility for driving supply chain performance across two manufacturing sites. You'll play a key role in developing procurement strategy, improving operational efficiency, and leading a high-performing purchasing function while working closely with senior leadership.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategic leadership with operational involvement. You'll have the autonomy to influence change, standardise best practice across the Group, and build strong relationships with a global supplier network.
The Role
- Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of the Group's end-to-end supply chain function, ensuring materials, systems and supplier performance support production across both manufacturing facilities.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing the Group purchasing strategy across both sites.
- Leading, mentoring and developing the purchasing teams while driving a culture of continuous improvement.
- Managing supplier relationships and negotiating commercial agreements with an international supply base.
- Ensuring the effective operation and continuous development of the MRP system.
- Driving inventory optimisation and maintaining vendor scheduling across both sites.
- Managing existing supply contracts while identifying opportunities to improve cost, quality and service.
- Standardising procurement processes, reporting and best practice while recognising the operational requirements of each site.
- Delivering Group material price variance (MPV) targets.
- Leading the annual standard cost review process.
- Monitoring and reporting on key supply chain KPIs including inventory turns, OTIF, forecast accuracy and cost-to-serve.
- Chairing weekly Group planning meetings and providing meaningful performance insight to senior stakeholders.
- Working collaboratively with production, engineering, finance and operations to ensure supply chain performance supports business objectives.
What You'll Need
- 4 years' experience in a senior procurement or supply chain leadership role.
- Multi-site management experience is advantageous.
- A proven track record of developing procurement strategies and negotiating supplier agreements that deliver measurable commercial benefits.
- Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to negotiate at executive and supplier level.
- Experience managing complex global supply chains within a manufacturing environment.
