Production/ Operations Manager (Animal Feeds) | Armagh | circa £50k


Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with our long-established Farming Client with the appointment of a Production/ Operations Manager for their progressive business based in Armagh.


The Production/Operations Manager is responsible for the financial and physical performance of the company Operations. They will be expected to drive the business, implement both short and long-term plans as well as manage a small team.


What your typical day as Production/Operations Manager will look like:


· Ensure implementation of the financial budgets and strategic plans
· Achievement of operational targets
· Identify performance gaps, trends, and improvement opportunities
· Drive continuous cost improvements
· Oversee all Operations and Administration of the Business function
· Responsible for the development, implementation of Quality Control & Hygiene checks and monitor these going forward
· Staff and Contractors are managed using good practice management techniques
· Lead the team to ensure they are engaged and focused though two-way communications
· Ensure the team are involved, understand and are working towards company targets
· Build skills of team through assessment, training, feedback, and support
· Manage on going performance of team
· Responsible for managing all stock
· Planning requirements are implemented, completed, and monitored
· Liaising with Procurement and Transport Manager to ensure most effective running of the business
· Ensure accurate and up to date records are maintained for all activities (stock, traceability, staff clocking's, training etc.).
· Manage the business infrastructure and maintain the company assets
· Coordinate maintenance activities to deliver planned or reactive maintenance
· Comply with all HR, Technical, Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
· Protect the Health and Safety of all though instituting and adherence to the safety culture
· Eliminate, minimise, or isolate all Health, Safety or Environmental hazards
· Ensure adherence to All Company Policies and Procedures


What you will need to succeed:


* Proven experience in People Management and dealing with the day to day running of a FMCG/Food or Animal Feed Manufacturing site
* Passionate, driven, enthusiastic, competent individual with excellent eye for detail and interpersonal skills
* Positive can-do attitude is essential along with the willingness to learn quickly within a changing environment
* Excellent time management skills
* Competent in Microsoft Office applications


Desirable Criteria (it would be great if you have these but don't worry if you don't!):

  • Experience of Computerised Systems
  • Machinery Maintenance experience
  • Full Driving licence
