They offer excellent job stability and career potential for the right candidate - We have previously placed people within this company who have excelled and moved up quite quickly - They may be a large firm, but they also are quick to spot a good work ethic and talent.

Our Client is looking for a Project Development Engineer (Cost and efficiency focused) to join their R&D team who will be responsible for the evaluation of cost and process efficiencies for current and future prototype and production designs, will drive and implement improvement initiatives to the supply base in order to add tangible value to all stages of the product life cycle and help to identify and high quality cost efficient product to market. Position holder will collect and analyse data and information in order to estimate costs associated with the manufacturing of products. The purpose of the position is to drive proactively towards cost target objectives in collaboration with a cross functional team and take the lead for reducing component count within the design and manufacturing process and look to deliver the most cost-efficient product without detriment to quality.

  • Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve issues affecting the product cost development of assigned products or categories
  • Work closely with technical teams to enhance the quality of existing products
  • Anticipate cost avoidance opportunities from dedicated review or product BoM (Bill of Material) and achieving cost reduction opportunities via close working with Global Category Sourcing, Supplier Development and Manufacturing teams

  • Drive cost modelling and tear down efforts
  • Develop and implement use of Value Engineering tools to drive consistency across all efforts

  • Strong demonstration of experience interacting with the supply chain function and the supply base
  • Strong understanding of assembly processes and good understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Lean / continuous experience / training
