Quality Assurance Assistant

Newtownards

£9.75per hour

Vickerstock are currently working in partnership with a reputable Food company with the appointment of a Quality Assurance Assistant based at their Newtownards site. The company is devoted to team work, sourcing locally and continuous improvement in order to develop and grow their business.

As the successful Quality Assurance Assistant, you will work alongside the QA Team to provide support across the business and work closely with your team members from Technical, Production and NPD to ensure products meet the requirements.

  • Monday - Friday working week
  • Day (8am to 4pm) or Evening (4pm to 12 midnight) shifts available
  • Overtime opportunities

What a typical day will look like:

  • Complete monitoring and quality assurance checks for operational areas, providing feedback and coaching
  • Support the continuous improvement of procedures and audit controls
  • Follow through on periodic thematic reviews to identify and take appropriate action to prevent further quality failures
  • Provide reporting and training needs analysis to the Risk, Compliance, Operational and Learning and Development Teams
  • Facilitating the effective ongoing relationship between quality assurance and internal stakeholders
  • End-to-end testing of areas highlighted by the business as high priority/high risk, such as collections and vulnerable customers
  • Management information to the business regarding quality within operations
  • Appropriate QA oversight of manufacturing and testing processes within the business
  • Completion of all relevant documentation relating to quality reporting and goods release

What you will need to secure your new role:

  • 5 GCSE's to include English and Maths
  • Experience of working within a regulated environment and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear and positive approach internally and in customer meetings
  • Meticulous attention to detail, especially with regard to food hygiene and safety
  • Proven monitoring, feedback and analytical skills with a track record of improving standards
  • Ability to diagnose and overcome technical issues

Desirable criteria:

  • Previous experience of maintaining, documenting and reporting across QMS systems ideally within Food/ FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Degree or HND in a relevant subject
  • 2 years' experience in a QA role
