Quality Assurance Manager

Vickerstock are delighted to be working EXCLUSIVELY with a marketing leading FMCG Client, to recruit for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their growing family business based in Dungannon, County Tyrone.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible to determine negotiate and agree on in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications.

A typical day as the successful Quality Assurance Manager

In conjunction with the management team, contribute to the formulation of the short, medium and long-term business strategies for the company and create the company's technical quality operating plans, establishing targets and metrics that allow for meaningful audit of success.

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Quality Department, including testing, documentation, product release, auditing and HACCP
  • Manage Export Requirements
  • Monitor and advise on the performance of the quality management system and produce data and reports on performance and measurement against set indicators
  • Ensure traceability is maintained throughout the production processes by continuous monitoring and verifying the quality checks
  • Verify the daily routine checks (e.g. process temperature controls) in order to ensure compliance with the GMP Standard and specific customer requirements
  • Coach production staff on testing including acceptable/reject limits and general quality requirements
  • Coach and train staff on SOP's (Production, Quality, Hygiene)
  • Set aside relevant samples/collect samples for testing, ensure proper retention of lab samples for shelf-life analysis and arrange retesting for out of spec samples
  • Keep accurate records of work undertaken and record all test results in relevant files
  • Prepare for audits from external bodies and/or customers, liaise on audits for suppliers/sub-contractors and host customer and regulatory audits
  • Update and maintain all quality paperwork and the Quality Manual. Review and revise all policies at a determined frequency or when legislation requires.
  • Design and implement meaningful record keeping documents for use in gathering production data (eg tracking, sampling methods)
  • Log and prepare samples for external laboratory testing, analysis, trending and record results and liaise with external laboratories regarding test results
  • Schedule and ensure completion of external calibration on laboratory equipment and ensure the equipment maintenance schedule is updated and adhered to.
  • Verify both visitor and contractor questionnaires and ensure they are issued out to all visitors and contractors and a record of these is maintained.
  • Manage, record/log all customer complaints and ensure they are responded to within agreed timeframes and resolved to a satisfactory level
  • Manage the non-conformance process for the site for suppliers, internal and micro etc and ensure NC materials and product is not used/dispatched
  • Manage external relationships with laboratories or other organisations for the purpose of acquiring new knowledge or access to technology in order to improve the companies product range.
  • Maintain Supplier Approval list on site.

Your Essential Ingredients:

  • 3rd Level/HND in Food related discipline or equivalent
  • Min 2 years' proven experience working in a FMCG organisation
  • HACCP/Internal Auditing experience
