Company and Role of Quality Manager

Vickerstock are recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager on behalf of an established and successful engineering and manufacturing business within County Down.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Manager who enjoys being close to manufacturing, developing people and making practical improvements rather than simply maintaining a quality system.

You will lead the Quality function and work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to improve standards, reduce quality issues and ensure products consistently meet customer and business requirements.

The position offers plenty of opportunity to influence how quality operates across the business, develop the team and introduce improvements that make a genuine difference to manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities for this Quality Manager position

• Lead and develop the Quality team
• Maintain and continually improve the company's Quality Management System
• Work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to improve product and process quality
• Investigate quality issues and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented
• Use quality data and trends to identify areas for improvement
• Support continuous improvement activities across manufacturing
• Manage internal and external quality audits
• Work with customers and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues
• Ensure appropriate quality standards and procedures are maintained
• Develop a strong quality culture across the wider manufacturing operation

Essential Criteria for this Quality Manager position

• Previous experience within Quality Management or a senior Quality Engineering position
• Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Previous experience leading or developing Quality personnel
• Good working knowledge of Quality Management Systems
• Experience with audits, root cause investigation and corrective actions
• Good understanding of continuous improvement within manufacturing
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills

A formal Engineering or Quality qualification would be advantageous, although strong relevant industry experience will also be considered.
