Vickerstock Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for one of Northern Ireland's leading main contractors for the role of Quantity Surveyor. With a number of specialist divisions including Construction, Civil Engineering and Fit Out, this organisation has the capability and expertise to deliver highly complex projects across the full built environment spectrum. With offices across the UK, this local success story is now one of the UK's largest contractors and continues to go from strength to strength. This particular role will be based in Edinburgh working on an exciting civil engineering project.

Your new role as Quantity Surveyor

As Quantity Surveyor, you will become a valued member of an exciting commercial team. In this role, you are responsible for all commercial aspects of the project, providing support and advice to the team to aid decision making, maintain commercial information and ensure compliance with the agreed contract requirements. You will monitor contract progress against the program and budget, prepare any necessary claims for reimbursements and for loss and expense, and liaise customers and third parties on all commercial matters. Other duties as Quantity Surveyor will include: assessment and certification of sub-contractor interim payments ensuring appropriate notices are issued; preparation of interim valuations and final account submissions; assist with preparation of extension of time claims and loss and expense submissions; ensure effective interaction between the commercial and operational site teams.

What you will need to succeed as Quantity Surveyor

  • Experience working in a similar position on similar sized projects
  • Experience working with a Main Contractor
  • Knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts
  • A relevant degree
