The 2025 Northern Ireland Market Insight Report confirms that the job market remains intensely competitive. As of March to May 2025, Northern Ireland’s unemployment rate stood at 2.1%, significantly lower than the UK average of 4.7%. The employment rate for those aged 16 to 64 was 72.1%, while economic inactivity remained elevated at 26.3%.
