Job description


Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with a growing and forward-thinking organisation to recruit an Accounts Payable Manager. Due to continued growth and success, this is a newly created opportunity within the finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the end-to-end accounts payable function, leading a team, and driving the implementation of a new ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for the end-to-end accounts payable process
  • Manage and develop the accounts payable team, overseeing day-to-day operations
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate processing and payment of invoices
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close activities for accounts payable
  • Review supplier statement reconciliations, identifying issues and taking appropriate corrective action
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier records
  • Ensure compliance with internal company policies and HMRC regulations
  • Support external audits by providing documentation and responding to queries as required
  • Lead and support the ERP implementation for the accounts payable function
  • Processing of supplier credit notes


The Person

  • Proven experience managing the end-to-end accounts payable function
  • Previous experience leading or supervising an accounts payable team
  • Strong working knowledge of accounts payable controls, reconciliations, and compliance
  • Experience or exposure to ERP systems, with involvement in system implementation highly desirable
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
