Vickerstock are working in partnership with a supplier of materials to the construction industry on the appointment of a Buyer.

In your new role:

• Sourcing new suppliers
• Build relationships with new and existing suppliers, negotiating best price and lead time whilst continually monitoring performance
• Carrying out audits with suppliers to ensure they meet the standards required
• Support remote sites on direct and indirect purchasing requirements
• Frequently liaise with the planning department to ensure the smooth day to day running of the business
• Compile data to report on material prices, stock levels, and ad hoc reports to support effective purchasing
• Generate purchase orders to meet manufacturing requirements with use of the MRP
• Daily review of MRP requirements, managing directly with suppliers to meet production requirements

What you will need to succeed:

• A minimum of 1 years purchasing experience with a fast paced, procurement department
• A good understanding of warehouse management, tendering processes
• A proven track record of success in sourcing new suppliers and carrying out cost saving project
