Senior QS/Commercial Manager | Galway

They provide high-quality innovative and sustainable engineering solutions to design, build, operate and maintain critical water and wastewater infrastructure across Ireland and the UK.

Due to expanding their commercial team, they are recruiting for the role of a Commercial Manager. This candidate could be a Senior QS whose next step would be into Commercial Management.

Your new role as a Commercial Manager

Work as part of a team in the commercial oversight of multiple programmes and projects, embracing the ethos of a "one team" culture.

• Development and implementation of project-specific commercial/contract strategies.
• Review contract specifications and scopes with stakeholders to identify risks or gaps in the project plans and support the Project/Contracts Manager in the development and implementation of a risk management plan.
• Review any new prospective Contracts at the tender stage for potential risk exposure, and liaise with clients to relay any concerns arising.
• Support the delivery team in the appointment of key packages including final negotiations and supplier/sub-contract agreements.
• Build and promote industry-leading teams by providing training and mentoring of staff. Stimulate every member of the team, setting goals that will help them feel part of their results.
• Seek to improve the commercial management processes by providing lessons learned feedback and innovative solutions for adoption on future contracts.

What you will have for this role

• 7+ years' experience with a Main Contractor/Sub-contractor
• Has an understanding of the Commercial Management role and practises
• Ability to price and estimate project
• Ability to agree on final accounts and negotiations with sub-contractors

Salary on offer:

Between €90k - €100k+ (based on experience)
