Job description
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading manufacturing organisation on the appointment of an EHS Manager.
As the EHS Manager, you will take ownership of the site's Environment, Health & Safety strategy, ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards while promoting a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement across all operations.
In your new role:
- Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of site-wide EHS management systems, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
- Act as the site's key liaison with local health & safety authorities and regulators, supporting inspections, audits and compliance activities
- Oversee hazard identification, risk assessments and incident investigations, driving corrective and preventive actions to completion
- Ensure statutory inspections and audits are carried out, recorded and communicated effectively across value streams
- Provide timely reporting to senior management on safety performance, environmental compliance and incident statistics in line with KPIs
- Deliver training sessions, workshops and awareness programmes to engage employees and strengthen the site safety culture
- Support and facilitate continuous improvement and lean initiatives, integrating EHS into productivity and technical improvement projects
- Coordinate contractor management and ensure adherence to site policies, safe systems of work and regulatory requirements
- Drive a collaborative approach to safety across departments, embedding a safety-first culture and strengthening employee accountability
What you will need to succeed:
- Relevant degree in Environmental, Health & Safety (or equivalent)
- 3+ years' experience in an EHS management role within manufacturing or engineering
- Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
- Demonstrable ability to influence, collaborate and engage teams at all levels
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
- Additional EHS certifications
- Experience managing regulatory inspections and liaising with authorities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to promote continuous improvement initiatives
