Vickerstock are working in partnership with our Food Manufacturing client in Newtownards to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager.

Our client, a recipient of many awards, has a strong reputation within the food sector and is a household name across the UK and Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody with experience of Project/Maintenance Management who wants to be part of a growing firm where you will be able to lay a significant role in shaping the organisation.

The role itself

• Leading engineering and innovation projects, managing resources to enhance manufacturing capabilities for current and future needs.
• Day to day management of Maintenance Engineers, overseeing preventative Maintenance work.
• Overseeing project implementation within set timelines and budgets, ensuring all objectives are met.
• Enforcing change control procedures and ensuring timely completion of project deliverables within planned parameters.
• Monitoring external services to maintain standards and meet specifications.
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks through comprehensive risk management.
• Provide effective leadership and address team performance issues.
• Implementing engineering solutions for manufacturing challenges to drive continuous improvement.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

What you will need

• Experience of overseeing Engineering operations within a fast-paced, high-volume Manufacturing facility (preferably Food).
• Relevant Engineering Qualification.
• Strong working knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems.
• Project Management experience.
• Strong working knowledge of health and safety practices.
