Vickerstock are delighted to be working exclusively in partnership with our client dedicated to delivering 'cracking' good eggs and taking care of hens throughout Ireland on the appointment of Farm Auditor. They are one of Ireland's largest established egg packers based in Monaghan.

As the successful Farm Auditor, you will be working with farmers across Monaghan, Cavan, Louth and Meath to ensure current procedures and standards are fit for purpose to ensure qualify safe product is guaranteed to our customers.

What you will receive:

  • Company van for travel to sites

  • Monday - Friday, 8.30am-5.30pm

What your typical day will look like:

  • Monthly auditing of farms against all relevant legislation and agricultural standards. Assisting farmers to ensure full compliance against these standards.
  • Regular microbiological sampling.
  • Training and advising farmers in areas such as biosecurity, food hygiene and sustainability.
  • Identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement at farms.
  • Provide support to farmers to correct non-compliance's raised and put measures in place to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Investigating customer complaints at farm level and implementing corrective actions.
  • Liaising with farmers on any quality issues identified at the packing centre.
  • Communicate with farmers on behalf of the packing centre as and when required.
  • Co-ordinate and participate in the Bord Bia audits for the farms.
  • Be an active member of the Origin Green team and represent the farms within the Origin Green Plan.
  • Ensure Quality KPI's are achieved and maintained.
  • Holiday cover in other quality department areas as and when required.

Your essential ingredients:

  • An interest in animal welfare (poultry).
  • 2-3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Good presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate with and engage with both the farming community and colleagues in a confident and patient manner whilst ensuring understanding.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised but also work well as a team player.
  • Ability to manage conflict / difficult situations.
  • Good time management, planning and organisational skills.
  • General IT Skills
  • Full clean driving licence

Desirable Criteria (it would be great if you have these, but don't worry if you don't!):

  • Some understanding of HACCP principles, Bord Bia standards
  • Diploma / Degree in Food Science / Food Technology
  • Practical auditing experience
  • Poultry experience
