Duties and Responsibilities

• Learns the Design ID Ethos
• Supporting the development and delivery of health and safety across the organisation, ensuring this is fit for purpose and striving for best practice.Promoting a positive health and safety culture where employees are encouraged to report unsafe acts, behaviour, near misses.
• Providing support to the business and teams to enable compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Providing support to Team Leaders in the implementation of health and safety guidance and best practice.
• Carrying out audits and inspections of work to ensure compliance with legislation and our health and safety management systems.
• Reviewing and updating our health and safety management systems as required including the development and maintenance of safety-related documentation, policies, procedures, guidance notes and forms.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience of health and safety practice within the construction industry
• Knowledge of current and pending HSE Directives for health and safety
• Knowledge of current statutory health and safety law in the UK
• Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)
• Technician grade membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH) or above
• CSCS Safety Professional card
• Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (Preferred)
• Working towards chartered membership of IOSH - CMIOSH
