Vickerstock are partnering with a leading European food manufacturer, renowned for supplying high-quality products to major retailers and foodservice partners around the globe. We are seeking a Lead Food Safety Auditor on a 12-month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Group Operations Director, you will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with third-party and customer standards. This role requires in-depth knowledge of food safety legislation, industry best practices, and the ability to communicate the importance of accurate record-keeping and policy implementation across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support audits across multiple sites, including internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Conduct gap analyses on new standards and implement required changes within the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Investigate non-conformities, drive corrective actions, and report on compliance performance.
- Manage testing programmes (e.g., microbiology, residue) and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train, support, and develop site teams to maintain high food safety and quality standards.
- Promote a strong culture of food safety and compliance across the organisation.
Working hours will be Monday - Thursday 8.30am to 5pm with an early Friday finish at 4pm however flexibility is required. You will be based at the head office in Monaghan, with travel required across ROI, NI, and occasionally to UK sites.
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree or relevant qualification in Food Technology, Food Safety, Nutrition, Agricultural Science, or related discipline.
- Knowledge of food industry standards (e.g., BRCGS, Bord Bia, Red Tractor) and customer codes of practice.
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles and food hygiene.
- Auditing experience across multiple sites.
- Ideally, experience working with major retailer customers.
