Vickerstock are working in partnership with a global machinery manufacturing business on the appointment of a Material Planner on a full-time permanent basis.

As the Material Planner, you will be responsible for availability of components for the production, managing inventories and ensuring that material resources are consistent with production schedules. You will ensure that there is an appropriate supply of cost-efficient and high-quality materials required to maintain steady production and product delivery.

In your new role:

• Responsible for running functional reports and providing rolling forecasts to suppliers
• Determining the required materials and generating replenishment plan
• Manage and maintain optimal lot size technique, safety stock and other planning parameters
• Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations
• Minimise inventory obsolescence and identify and manage cost drivers
• Support sourcing activities to drive material cost improvements and availability
• Responsible for accurate and timely reporting to Supply management on stretched performance metrics to drive continuous business improvements

What you will need to succeed:

Essential

• Three years of relevant and recent experience
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing business
• Proficient MS packages especially Advanced MS Excel & Google Suite.

Desirable

• Degree in business, logistics, inventory management, or a related field preferred
• Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma
