Vickerstock are working in partnership with a family run, Engineering firm on the appointment of a Material Planner & Purchaser.

Reporting to the Commercial Director you will be responsible for ensuring all materials are on site and on time to ensure the smooth day to day running of production.

In your new role:

• Develop relationships with key suppliers
• Sourcing new suppliers, negotiating best price and lead times whilst continually monitoring performance through agreed KPI targets
• Ensure all materials required are on site and on time
• Frequently liaise with relevant departments providing updates on materials
• Daily management of the stores
• Day to day running of the stores & stock control system
• Monitor stock levels and carry out monthly stock counts
• Strong focus on process improvement, continually looking fro ways to improve efficiencies withing the stores and purchasing departments

What you will need to succeed:

• A minimum of 2 years experience working in a Stores/Purchasing department preferably within a manufacturing environment
• Sound knowledge of MRP/ERP systems

In return a starting salary of up to £40,000 plus perks is on offer.
