Vickerstock are working exclusively in partnership with a manufacturing firm based in Ballynahinch on the appointment of a Procurement Manager.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a busy procurement team made up of 3 Buyers with a strong focus on negotiations. This includes the efficient, effective management and development of the Purchasing Tactical elements of the business to ensure all materials are on-site, and on time to meet customer demands.

In your new role:

• Manage, mentor, and develop the team of 3 Buyers
• Develop and monitor KPI's for the team with a strong focus on continuous improvement
• Sourcing new suppliers, negotiating best prices and lead times
• Developing relationships with new and existing suppliers, monitoring performance and ensuring all materials are on site on time and up to the quality standards expected
• The timely annual review of all standard costs
• Successfully manage the fast paced, high volume purchasing requirements
• The timely, accurate and effective running and development of the MRP system

What you will need to succeed:

• A minimum of 3 years experience working in a senior procurement position within a fast paced, manufacturing environment
• Previous experience in using MRP/ERP system
• Proven track record of successfully carrying out cost saving projects
