In your new role:
You will be responsible for planning and scheduling the demand for the relevant department
Identify & resolve any conflicts within the schedule, materials, or labour, to ensure the smooth day to day running of the production line
Maintain target inventory levels and generate options to resolve low/ high stock conditions
Develop and maintain key working relationships with all relevant departments within the business
Communicate, control, and manage short term capacity changes
Communicate the production plan to the relevant personnel
Closely manage production and analyse compared to plan
Ensure you have a solid understanding of current factory processes
Proactively work to evaluate and supply short term changes in demand
Close jobs on a daily basis, resolving any issues with materials
Maintain all data and calendars for the scheduling system
Monitor data in all planning systems and amend/identify issues
Identify system improvements to help improve performance
Ensure scheduling system updated on time
Implement material changes in order to to minimise material write off
Control new materials introduction, including availability of trial quantities
Identify material standardisation opportunities
Coordinate the use of potentially obsolete raw materials.
Manage run in/ run out of materials as required to minimise costs
What you will need to succeed:
A minimum of 18 months experience working in a Production Planning / Scheduling role within a manufacturing environment
A good understanding of the Production Process
Experience in using MRP System and highly proficient in all Microsoft Office packages
