Vickerstock are delighted to be working with one of the UK's leading main contractors to recruit for the position of Project Manager. With a number of specialist divisions including Construction, Civil Engineering and Fit Out, this organisation has the capability and expertise to deliver highly complex projects across the full built environment spectrum. This local success story is now one of the UK's largest contractors and continues to go from strength to strength, working on projects throughout the UK and Ireland. This particular role is based in Putney, working on a major design and build construction project.

Your new role as Project Manager

As Project Manager, you will become a valued member of the construction team. Your main responsibility as Project Manager, is to carry out all commercial reviews in line with the project budget. You must ensure full detailed records of all site works are kept and maintained on site and you must identify commercial opportunities with regard to possible contractual claims. On this design and build project, you will fulfil the role of Design Manager and confirm Design Function Responsibilities are compiled and agreed. Other duties you will have as Project Manager include: ensure all actions from client progress meetings are handled efficiently; ensure site management and operatives are trained for their role and identify need for further training; and ensure that all administration aspects of the project are managed and implemented efficiently.

What you will need to succeed as Project Manager (but don't worry you will still be considered if you don't have some/all of these)

  • Good construction experience working in a similar role
  • Experience working in design and build
  • Experience in managing subcontractors in line with health and safety and environmental legislation (First Aid at Work)
