Vickerstock are partnering our long established FMCG Client - renowned for its high-quality products - with the appointment of a Quality Assistant for their East Belfast facility.

As the successful Quality Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Quality Manager to ensure that all operations meet the requirements of the company's Quality Systems. You will conduct all routine checks as required by the internal systems and as directed by the Quality Manager.

What we have to offer:

  • Fixed Term Contract / Placement - 9to12 months
  • Monday - Friday (40.25 hours per week)
  • Hourly rate £12.00-£13.00 per hour
  • 29 days Holidays
  • Early Finish Fridays

Your day to day as Quality Assistant

  • Complete all routine checks as required by the Quality Manager
  • Retain necessary documents to support the internal management systems.
  • Provide technical support / advice to ensure continuous technical performance improvement.
  • Ensure specifications are adhered to (especially labelling & barcoding)
  • Assist with carrying out investigation into consumer & customer complaints and putting preventative actions in place.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings as required
  • Report any quality, environmental or safety NC to the Quality Manager
  • Assist with QC cover in absence of Quality Manger
  • Complete various internal audits as required (QMS Procedural / H&S / Environmental / GMP / Glass & Hard Plastic)

Your essential ingredients

  • Minimum 7 GCSEs including English and Maths
  • Working towards food related qualification
  • Good organisational skills and knowledge of computer systems such as Microsoft
  • Strong communications skills
  • Ability to work as a team and on own initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Flexibility around start/finish times

Desirable

  • Working towards third level qualification in a relevant subject
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment
