Quantity Surveyor | Consultancy

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading Construction consultancy company based in Belfast. This company have a 50+ strong workforce with an annual turnover of £10 Million, covering services such as Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, and Design. Due to the company's ability to deliver high quality projects, they now wish to expand their commercial team with the addition of an experienced Quantity Surveyor.

Your new role as a Quantity Surveyor,

Reporting to the senior management team, your duties will include;

  • Preparation of Bill of Quantities and Contract Documents.
  • Preparation, negotiation, and agreement of final accounts with all sub-contractors.
  • Manage and negotiate the subcontract tender process, including the selection of sub-contractors and provision of all relevant contract and schedule documentation.
  • Liaise with Clients, Sub-Contractors, Suppliers to ensure information; costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of each project.
  • Pro-actively monitor cash flow and valuation planning, ensuring application are made correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Post contact duties including interim recommendations, cost reporting, dealing with cost variations and final accounts.
  • Internal and external monthly review meetings with Client Teams and Sub-contractors.
  • Train and mentor Junior members of staff.

What you will need to succeed

  • Hold a BSc Hons degree in Quantity Surveying or a construction related subject
  • 5-8 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor position or Cost Management
  • Proven ability of managing contracts from inception to handover to the value of 1 million
  • Experience and knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts

Desirable; (Not essential, don't worry if you don't have these just yet)

  • MRICS Chartered Status
  • Experience working within a consultancy environment
