Vickerstock are working in partnership with our client who are industry leaders within food ingredients and are seeking a Senior Commercial & Technical Manager to join the team.
With customers in Ireland, the UK, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East there will be opportunities to work with all types of protein to the varying demands and requirements these markets have. Consequently, experience will be gained in hugely diverse areas.
You will have access to the world's leading food ingredients manufacturers of primary products based in Europe, North America, India and China.
As the Commercial and Technical Manager, you will head up the sales and R&D divisions while providing leadership and management to ensure deliverables in terms of efficacy and quality to existing and target company base.
Main Responsibilities:

  • To drive the company as part of the senior management team to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.
  • To grow sales in core target markets through the identification, engagement, and objective based management of accounts.
  • Build and Manage client relationships, identifying opportunities for new business.
  • Lead, manage and direct sales team and monitor against annual objectives and sales targets.
  • Optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of the company's NPD team, generating profitable and commercially attractive solutions for customers current and prospective.
  • Create and manage KPI's to measure and improve the effectiveness of all core customer service deliverables.
  • Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the sales and R&D functions.
  • Play an active role as part of the top management team in the development, communication, and implementation of quality optimising processes.
  • Engage, stretch, and lead a high-performance team.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
  • Staying aware of the latest trends and developments and representing a company at industry events
  • Negotiating and agreeing contracts


This role requires previous experience in a managerial position & sales, marketing is also helpful. You must also have in-depth knowledge of various business functions, including business development, financial, project and customer management.

  • Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate teams.
  • Excellent customer service and customer relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of project management and risk management
  • Solid financial skills, including financial reporting abilities
  • Strong marketing development skills to successfully introduce new products into the mainstream
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations and industry trends.
  • Track record in a managerial role of successfully driving growth and profitability through sales team(s) and distributors.
