Job Description: We are currently seeking a Senior Cost Planner with expertise in residential construction to join our team. As part of our six-person team, including two senior professionals, you will play a crucial role in optimising project costs and ensuring the financial success of our residential projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the cost planning process for residential construction projects, from initial estimation to final budget analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis, identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
  • Monitor project budgets throughout the construction phase, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reports and forecasts to stakeholders, highlighting key cost drivers and project risks.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, sharing expertise and best practices to foster their professional growth and development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, construction management or a related field.
  • 8-10 years or more of experience in cost planning, estimating, or project management within the residential construction sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing cost budgets for residential projects of varying sizes and complexity.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in construction cost estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on accuracy and precision in cost estimation and analysis.
