Vickerstock are delighted to be working with one of the UK's leading main contractors to recruit for the position of Senior Project Manager. With a number of specialist divisions including Construction, Civil Engineering and Fit Out, this organisation has the capability and expertise to deliver highly complex projects across the full built environment spectrum. With offices across the UK, this local success story is now one of the UK's largest contractors and continuing to create further opportunities for their team. You will become a valued member of their team, working on projects throughout Scotland. The first project you will be working on is based in Glasgow, consisting of the infilling of a wet basin and construction of an assembly hall facility. This project is valued at £150 million and will commence in December.

Your new role as Senior Project Manager

As Senior Project Manager, it is your responsibility to lead the subcontractor procurement process. You must ensure that all project correspondence and contractual notices have been wrote and sent to all relevant parties. You are also in charge of carrying out commercial reviews in relation to budgetary aspects of the project. In this role, you are responsible for attending subcontractor pre-start meetings, handover meetings and project start-up meetings. It is your duty to ensure all site management and operative teams are sufficiently trained and identify any training where needed. You will also be undertaking the role of Temporary Works Coordinator. You will provide guidance and instruction, leading, when necessary, the commercial team alongside the PQS. On Design & Build projects, you will fulfil the role of Design Manager, ensuring the Schedule of Design Function responsibilities is compiled and agreed.

What you will need to succeed as Senior Project Manager

  • Good construction experience working on projects of a similar value;
  • Experience working on civil and build projects;
  • Experience in managing subcontractors in line with health and safety and environmental legislation (First Aid at Work)
  • A construction/civil engineering related degree
