Vickerstock are working in partnership with an engineering firm experiencing a huge period of growth on the appointment of an experienced Stores Manager.

This role will suit someone coming from a face paced, manufacturing environment with a strong focus on continuous improvement.

In your new role:

• Reporting directly to the Head of Logistics
• Managing a team of around 30 staff made up of warehouse operatives, logistics coordinators, forklift drivers and warehouse team leaders
• Manage performance of all members of the team ensuring everyone is prepped and motivated for the day ahead
• Ensure that labour is planned and utilised effectively to deliver the operational plans & KPI's
• Ensure all employees are fully trained and compliant with all QA and Health & Safety policies
• Fully responsible for the safe and accurate receipt of goods, storage and delivery to production lines
• Plan and manage all activities around maintaining stock accuracy, including rolling stock-takes, annual stock takes and carrying out investigations where there are discrepancies
• Reporting and delivering all KPI's, ensuring all levels of staff in the stores know what is expected of them
• Frequently liaise with the scheduling team keeping them up to date on any material shortages
• Responsible for fork trucks/handling equipment and any vans under the control of the stores team, ensuring they are safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose

What you will need to succeed:

• A minimum of 2 years experience managing a busy warehouse/stores preferably within a fast paced, manufacturing environment
