Job description

Vickerstock are working exclusively in partnership with a heavy engineering firm based in the Dungannon area on the appointment of a Supply Chain Manager.

You will be responsible for sourcing, managing and developing relationships with suppliers ensuring that they meet the company's quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

In your new role:

  • Oversee the entire supply chain operation, ensuring all materials and products are sourced, shipped, and received in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Frequently liaise and work closely with the Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to drive continuous improvement in supplier performance
  • Develop and implement Supply Chain strategies
  • Source suppliers negotiating best price and lead time whilst continually monitoring performance
  • Responsible for bench-marking and market analysis
  • Maintain and track inventory - conducting regular inventory reconciliations, investigating variances and implementing measures to manage stock efficiently
  • Develop and implement key strategies ensuring critical processes are run effectively, achieving organisational goals and improving performance KPI's
  • Utilise data monitoring and analytics to evaluate past performance and trends to forecast inventory and distribution requirements
  • Manage and optimize international and domestic transportation/logistics, customs compliance, and supplier relationships

What you will need to succeed:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a Supply Chain Management role
  • Good understanding of ERP/MRP systems as well as all Microsoft Office packages
  • Proven track record of success in carrying out process improvement and cost saving projects
