Vickerstock are working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected food manufacturing business to recruit a Technical Manager. Operating across two sites in North Antrim/Coastal area this business has built a strong reputation for quality, food safety, and continuous improvement and is now seeking a senior technical leader to join their team.

The Role

As Technical Manager, you will have full responsibility for driving food safety, quality, and compliance across the business. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will lead the technical and QA functions on site, managing audits, customer relationships, and quality systems while embedding a strong food safety culture throughout the operation.

You will work closely with production and NPD teams to ensure standards are maintained and continuously improved, supporting both operational excellence and customer confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all technical and quality functions across the site
• Manage all third-party technical audits and customer visits
• Act as the technical point of contact for customers, ensuring compliance with specifications and Codes of Practice
• Oversee and maintain the HACCP and Quality Management Systems
• Ensure products meet all food safety, quality, and legal requirements
• Drive improvements in site standards, product quality, and reduction in customer complaints
• Develop, coach, and train the Technical and QA teams
• Promote and maintain a strong food safety and quality culture
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and company procedures

What You'll Need

• Proven experience in a Technical Manager or senior technical role within food manufacturing
• Background in fresh produce or chilled food manufacturing is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and customer audit requirements
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
• A proactive, hands-on leader with a passion for quality and continuous improvement
