Job description
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading organisation to appoint a Warehouse & Logistics Manager.
As the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping strategy, leading change, and developing a high-performing team that supports the wider business goals. You will bring new ideas, challenge the status quo and will implement lean methodology when required to improve overall efficiency from goods received to delivery.

Duties:
- Develop and implement warehouse and logistics strategies fully aligned with wider company objectives.
- Propose, plan, and deliver improvement initiatives aimed at boosting efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead change management programmes to modernise operations and embed digital tools and technologies.
- Use lean methodologies to reduce waste, streamline workflows, and elevate service delivery.
- Oversee all daily warehouse and logistics activities including receiving, stock management, order fulfilment, and shipping.
- Work collaboratively with the Inventory Manager to maintain best-practice processes for stock accuracy, rotation, and damage reduction.
- Build strong partnerships with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, and transport providers to ensure seamless communication and coordinated operations.
- Foster a positive, performance-driven culture rooted in continuous improvement, accountability, and company values.
- Ensure the team structure, capability, and staffing levels effectively support productivity and operational demands.
- Drive high performance through clear KPIs, consistent standards, and robust resource planning.
- Build succession depth by identifying talent, enhancing skills, and enabling cross-functional training.
- Monitor and manage budgets across warehouse, logistics, and the sample department to ensure cost control and operational efficiency.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party suppliers, carriers, and service partners to maximise value and service levels.
- Lead all health & safety and compliance activities, working closely with the H&S consultant to maintain safe systems of work and set area-specific safety objectives.
- Conduct audits and risk assessments to continuously strengthen safety standards and mitigate operational risks.
- Implement and uphold quality control measures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
- Track, analyse, and report key metrics including order accuracy, on-time delivery, cost per shipment, and other operational KPIs.
- Use data intelligence to identify root causes, refine workflows, and support both operational and strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and present performance reports to the Senior Management Team, providing insight into progress, risks, and improvement actions.
What you will need to succeed:
- 4 years' experience in a similar senior position
- Strong team management and leadership skills
- Past experience implementing lean methodology (advantageous)
- Relatable degree/qualification is highly desirable
