Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a building materials supplier based in Lisburn on the appointment of a Warehouse Operations Manager.

Reporting directly to the Group Operations Manager you will lead, manage and mentor a team of 2 Warehouse Managers and 25 Operatives with a strong focus on process improvement.

In your new role:

  • Strong focus on continuous improvement and positive change throughout the site
  • Build strong working relationships with all members of the warehouse team, understanding their needs & concerns whilst working closely with the entire team to implement process improvements to improve efficiencies
  • Implement a training and development culture enabling employees to advance their careers within the Group
  • Carry out continuous improvement projects within the warehouse and logistics functions
  • Working closely with the Group IT Solutions Lead to identify areas where new software systems can be introduced and implemented
  • Take all necessary measures to ensure that our team working on site, the building and its contents are secure at all times, ensuring fire safety / burglar alarm systems and equipment are serviced regularly and maintained in good working order whilst frequently liaising with the contracted security company to ensure the premises is monitored outside of business hours
  • Ensure all employees, visitors and contractors on site are trained on and comply with company health and safety policies
  • Ensure all mandatory health & safety training is kept up to date, on file and in line with legal requirements

What you will need to succeed:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a Senior Management Warehouse and/or Logistics role
  • Proficient with warehouse management systems, MRP/ERP
  • Degree or similar in Supply Chain and/or Logistics
  • Full clean driving licence
