Assistant Quality Manager
West London | Office-based
Salary: c. £38,000-£40,000 + bonus & benefits
Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with a leading importer of high-quality meat products to recruit an Assistant Quality Manager to support the delivery and continuous improvement of the company's Quality Management System.
This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional within the meat industry to take on a broad, customer-focused and operationally engaged role with strong exposure across commercial, logistics and supply chain functions.
Your new role:
Reporting to the Operations & Technical Director, you will support the day-to-day management of the Quality function, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, warehouses and customers.
While capable of supporting the wider QA remit when required, the primary focus of this role will be customer complaints management, investigations, stakeholder engagement and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing customer complaints end-to-end in collaboration with the Commercial team.
Conducting investigations with warehouses, transport providers and suppliers.
Completing and monitoring Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) through to closure.
Analysing recurring issues and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Supporting quality-related chargebacks and commercial claims.
Maintaining and supporting Quality Management System documentation.
Assisting with internal audits, HACCP reviews and SOP updates.
Supporting BRCGS Food and BRCGS Agents & Brokers compliance.
Conducting customer and warehouse visits as required.
Providing quality support across operations, logistics and supply chain.
What you'll need to succeed:
Proven experience within the meat industry (essential).
Fluent Portuguese (spoken and written) - essential.
Experience working within a regulated, documentation-heavy environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage investigations and drive corrective actions effectively.
Desirable:
Internal auditing experience.
HACCP knowledge.
Experience with BRCGS Food and/or BRCGS Agents & Brokers.
Experience within importer/exporter or supply chain environments.
