Associate / Technical Director - Structural Engineering
Vickerstock are delighted to be working with a well-established consultancy who are seeking to appoint an Associate / Technical Director - Structural Engineering to strengthen their leadership team. This is a senior role offering the opportunity to take ownership of technical delivery and client relationships across a diverse range of structural projects.
With a strong pipeline of work spanning commercial, residential, education and public sector schemes, the business has built an excellent reputation for delivering innovative and cost-effective structural solutions across Northern Ireland.

Your new role as Associate / Technical Director - Structural Engineering
You will be responsible for:

  • Help lead the structural engineering function within the business, ensuring technical excellence across all projects
  • Managing and mentoring a team of engineers and technicians, supporting their technical development and progression
  • Taking a lead role in design delivery from concept through to completion, providing hands-on input where required
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring repeat business and long-term partnerships
  • Contributing to business development activities, bid preparation and project acquisition
  • Acting as a senior technical authority on projects, representing the business at client and stakeholder meetings


What you will need to succeed as Associate / Technical Director - Structural Engineering
To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Chartered Engineer status with IStructE or ICE
  • Significant consultancy experience delivering structural engineering projects across a range of sectors
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and developing junior engineers
  • Strong technical expertise in structural design across steel, concrete, timber and masonry
  • Excellent client-facing abilities with a track record of building lasting relationships
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to support business development initiatives
