Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with Sandvik, global leaders in the manufacturing of Mobile Crushing & Screening equipment on the appointment of a Category Lead. In this position, you will oversee the NPD & Aftermarket category. This position has become available due to internal promotion, which is testament to Sandvik's belief in promoting within and providing long-term career growth.

As the Category Lead, you will ensure best value and terms when purchasing whilst maintaining and improving net working capital and supplier performance in line with the company targets. Liaising heavily with the engineering team, you will showcase strong project management skills overseeing the introduction of new and refined machinery for a global customer base.

In your new role:

• Collate internal customer feedback on supplier performance using the defined KPIs and take ownership to implement performance improvement plans when necessary
• Identify cost saving opportunities and developing a strategy through design to value or negotiations
• Record and present cost savings realised on a monthly basis
• Lead commercial negotiations with related suppliers
• Provide a strong procurement support function to all areas ensuring continuity and efficiency of production, and to identify then, act on actual and potential shortages ensuring full ownership is taken in remedial action
• Adhere to the SRP purchasing policy and Code of Conduct and take responsibility for design changes and special/one off parts in terms of obtaining re-specification of parts then pricing.
• Ensure the best cost modelling (considering total cost ownership) and negotiations for each purchase project
• Ensure an efficient Supply plan (no out of stock)
• Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the assigned category's global/regional/local supply market and ensure a suitable knowledge base is maintain for the Division

Essential

• 3 year's as a Category Manager/Lead/Buyer
• Past experience in the crushing screening industry

Desirable

• CIPS qualification or working towards
• Relevant third level qualification
• Experience purchasing in a NPD/Aftermarket environment.
