Vickerstock Construction are working in partnership with a leading M&E contractor to appoint an Electrical Design Manager. With a strong track record of delivering complex, high-value projects across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, and life sciences, this is an ideal opportunity to take on a senior-level role in a well-respected and continually growing business.
As an Electrical Design Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring building services are designed and coordinated to meet both performance expectations and project timelines. You'll lead the internal design effort while working closely with external consultants, specialist contractors, and in-house delivery teams.
The Role:
Working across the full MEP spectrum - including mechanical, electrical, HVAC etc. - you will take responsibility for driving design performance, technical standards, and compliance across live projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the coordination of Electrical designs
Managing design programmes
Supporting pre-construction planning
Reviewing drawings, models, and technical documentation to ensure accuracy and buildability
Engaging in design meetings, technical reviews, and quality workshops
Supporting procurement, technical submittals, and approvals processes
Collaborating with BIM teams and reviewing 3D models for design integration
- Occasionally, visiting sites to identify any design challenges.
Providing ongoing design support throughout the delivery phase and into handover
- Management of the design budget, as relates to external support
What You'll Bring:
Minimum 5 years' experience in an electrical or building services design environment
Exposure to the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to handover
Proficiency with modern design tools such as Revit and Navisworks.
Strong understanding of design management principles, compliance, and stakeholder coordination
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
