Vickerstock Recruitment are working alongside a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy to recruit an Environmental Scientist to support exciting environmental, planning and infrastructure projects across Ireland and the UK

This is a great opportunity for an early-to-mid-career environmental professional with a strong scientific grounding and a keen interest in environmental assessment and sustainability. The role will see you working across a wide range of sectors including energy, infrastructure, water and transport

Your new role as Environmental Scientist
In this hands-on role, you will assist with delivering environmental survey, assessment and reporting work that supports planning, consenting and project delivery for clients across the public and private sectors.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the preparation of environmental impact assessments (EIA), baseline studies and technical reports
  • Assisting with data collection, analysis and interpretation using GIS and other tools
  • Helping to prepare planning and environmental consent documentation
  • Liaising with clients, statutory bodies and regulators as required
  • Contributing to multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure environmental compliance and best practice


What you will need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Geoscience or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 3-years' experience working within the environmental assessment sector.)
  • Practical knowledge of environmental legislation, planning policy and environmental impact assessment processes
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g. CIEEM) and experience with GIS, environmental modelling or stakeholder engagement would be advantageous.
