Estimator | Pre-construction | Belfast

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a Tier 1 Civil and Build contractor working on projects across NI and the UK. This main contractor has a well-known reputation for delivering high-end, high-quality project delivery. The scope of this company's contracts ranges from Flood Protection, Ports, Stadia, Educational and commercial fit out. This role would be suitable for an experienced Estimator with a background in major builds, Quantity surveyors and other backgrounds may also be considered for this role.

Your new role as an Estimator

In your new role, working alongside the Head of Estimating within the Pre-construction team you will work to prepare accurate take-offs, to assist and produce detailed and competitive tenders, assisting with Bids for new contracts, monitor the stages of projects to ensure budgets are in line with forecasting. Planning and managing timescales for jobs to be carried out ensuring deadlines are met, analyse quotes for prelims and materials. Some travel will be involved in this role as you will attend client/ site meetings occasionally, as demanded by the project.

What you will need to succeed as an Estimator

  • 5+ years' experience working on projects ranging from 1 million - 10 million
  • Experience using Estimating software i.e., Causeway, Conquest etc
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages, confident in presenting information.
  • Good communication, negotiation and numeracy skills required.

Desirable:

  • Degree OR HND level education in construction relevant subject or engineering
