Vickerstock are working in partnership with a manufacturing firm based in Newry on the appointment of a Health and Safety Manager.

As the Health and Safety Manager, you will design and implement management systems, devise improvement strategies and site plans. You will also provide expert support, coaching, and advice to the site leadership team and their staff on all matters related to operational health, safety, and the environment.

In your new role:

• Create and implement HS&E policies and procedures for compliance and continuous improvement.
• Develop and manage programs to enhance HS&E culture and performance through stakeholder collaboration.
• Oversee the HS&E audit program to ensure compliance and identify improvement areas.
• Drive HS&E culture change and improve accountability at all levels through education and communication.
• Develop a road map for the strategic plan, including processes to educate, communicate, and drive culture change, embedding HS&E into daily practices and enhancing ownership and accountability at all levels.
• Develop and implement strategic and tactical plans to manage HS&E risks.
• Ensure projects and equipment changes are compliant and improve risk management and sustainability.
• Manage local stakeholder relationships, ensure legal compliance, and lead enforcement visits and audits.

What you will need to succeed:

• Relevant professional qualification in Health and Safety.
• Experience in Health and Safety Management
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
• Understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
• Practical knowledge of quality improvements and techniques.

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

• Relevant degree Health and Safety, or Environmental Management.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
