Job description
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a growing organisation to recruit a HSEQ Officer.
As HSEQ Officer, you will work closely with operational teams, managers, and external stakeholders to ensure Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards are maintained across all activities.
This role combines practical site engagement with system administration and performance monitoring, ensuring compliance with ISO management systems and legal obligations while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
In your new role:
- Provide HSEQ guidance and support to managers, supervisors, and operational teams
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and relevant legislation
- Conduct site audits and inspections, producing clear reports and tracking corrective actions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through KPI monitoring, audits, and targeted HSEQ programmes
- Assist in maintaining and improving ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Investigate incidents, non-conformances, and root causes, recommending corrective and preventive actions
- Deliver HSEQ inductions, training sessions, and toolbox talks where required
- Support the development and review of risk assessments, quality plans, and safe systems of work
- Maintain HSEQ documentation, records, registers, and reporting systems
- Assist with internal and external audits, tender documentation, and prequalification submissions
- Maintain strong communication with clients, suppliers, and project teams to ensure consistent HSEQ standards
What you will need to succeed:
- Relevant qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Quality, or a related discipline (or currently working towards)
- Working knowledge of HSEQ legislation and management systems
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
- Full clean UK driving license
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
- Previous experience in a HSEQ, Health & Safety, or compliance-related role
- Exposure to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Experience supporting audits, incident investigations, or compliance reporting
