Job description

Lead Architectural Technologist | Banbridge
Vickerstock are pleased to be partnering with an established commercial offsite fabrication company, recognised as a market leader in bespoke MEP and energy-efficient building solutions across the UK, Ireland, and Europe. Operating from a large fabrication facility located in Banbridge, the business continues to expand and is now seeking a Lead Architectural Technologist to join its Head Office design team.

Your new role as Lead Architectural Technologist
In this permanent, onsite role, you will report to the Associate Director and take the lead on the architectural technology function, with a particular focus on building envelope design and thermal performance. You'll be responsible for producing and reviewing high-quality design outputs that optimise fabric efficiency, airtightness, and insulation detailing, ensuring projects meet both energy-performance targets and offsite manufacturing requirements. You'll collaborate closely with design engineers, CAD technicians, contracts managers, and fabrication teams to:

  • Ensure designs achieve the highest standards of thermal efficiency and compliance
  • Integrate architectural detailing with MEP and structural elements
  • Support prefabrication workflows by providing coordinated, manufacturable design solutions
  • Lead technical discussions with clients, design teams, and site teams on matters of thermal performance, U-values, condensation risk analysis, and energy strategy compliance

What you will need to succeed as Lead Architectural Technologist
To be considered, you should have:

  • Proven experience as an Architectural Technologist in building services, offsite construction, or modular environments
  • Strong knowledge of building thermal performance, insulation strategies, and airtightness detailing
  • Proficiency in CAD, 3D modelling, and architectural detailing software
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables and maintain high technical standards
  • Excellent coordination skills with multi-disciplinary teams and fabrication environments

What's in it for you?
If successful, you will benefit from:

  • A market leading salary and strong benefits package (negotiable depending on experience)
  • The opportunity to take a lead role in shaping thermal and architectural design standards for large-scale energy-efficient projects
  • Involvement in technically challenging, bespoke projects across the UK, Ireland, and Europe
  • Professional development support and career growth in a collaborative environment
  • State-of-the-art facilities and a strong engineering/design culture
