Your new role as a Manufacturing Engineer

As Senior Engineer, your primary responsibilities will revolve around leading technical support for specific product and process challenges within a manufacturing cell heavily reliant on CNC technology. You'll play a crucial role in advancing manufacturing practices, contributing to the development of top-tier methods within the production cell. Monitoring line performance and implementing planned activities to enhance overall equipment effectiveness will be essential in your daily role. Additionally, you'll be a key team member in creating and implementing essential documentation, including SOPs and process work instructions in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Your support will extend to maintaining work holding, tooling, fixtures, production aids, and various systems within the manufacturing cell. Collaborating closely with management, you'll pinpoint opportunities to aid efficiency on the production line, with a specific focus on reducing downtime and expanding capacity. Your involvement will also encompass providing support for product and process validations, conducting Gauge R&R studies, employing Six Sigma and Lean methodologies for structured problem-solving, and consistently monitoring and reporting variables that impact business performance metrics, taking proactive measures to resolve any deficits.

What you will need to succeed as Manufacturing Engineer (if you have these that's great, but don't worry if not- they're not essential)

  • Level 8 Honours Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • 2 plus years' experience in a CNC machining environment is essential.
  • Experience in working with CNC controllers i.e. Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenheim, etc. required.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in NC code logic with particular focus in macro programming, preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working on CNC machine tools such as Mori Seiki, Makino & HAAS preferable but not essential.
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM packages preferable.
  • Capable of technical leading, influencing and providing technical direction to engineers, coop students, technicians and operators as required.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with CMM's beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to prioritise work tasks to achieve key opportunities across quality, service, and cost.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated or regulated industry beneficial.
