A leading MEP contractor is expanding its operations with the creation of a new in-house MEP design division to strengthen their existing design capabilities and is now seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to lead this chapter. Operating across the UK and Ireland, the business delivers critical infrastructure projects with a strong presence in the water and environmental engineering sectors.

Your new role as MEP Design Manager

  • As MEP Design Manager, you will take the lead in developing and delivering multi-disciplinary MEP design solutions, with a particular focus on water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. This newly established team will play a central role in project delivery from pre-construction through to handover, and you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality design outputs, alignment with client expectations, and compliance with industry standards.
  • You will work closely with project, bid and delivery teams to ensure technical excellence across Mechanical, Electrical and Process disciplines, while also playing a key role in winning new work through input on tenders, feasibility studies, and stakeholder engagement.
  • This is a rare opportunity to shape the direction of a growing business function, bringing together leadership, technical oversight, and strategic input.

What you will need to succeed as an MEP Design Manager
To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (or related discipline)
  • A strong track record of delivering MEP design on water and wastewater projects
  • Broad technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and process systems in the utilities sector
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and driving technical deliverables
  • Commercial awareness and experience supporting business development and work-winning
  • Familiarity with D&B contracts and a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams

What's in it for you?
If successful, you will benefit from:

  • A competitive salary and benefits package
  • The opportunity to shape and lead a newly established design team
  • A technically engaging role with genuine strategic influence
  • Strong pipeline of infrastructure projects across Ireland and the UK
  • Flexible working arrangements and a supportive team environment
