Principal / Associate Civil Engineer (Infrastructure) | Belfast
A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Principal or Associate level Civil Engineer to join their infrastructure team in Belfast. This newly created role comes as a result of several major project awards, reflecting the company's continued growth and reputation for delivering complex infrastructure works across Ireland.
Your new role as Principal / Associate Civil Engineer
You will take a prominent, senior role in the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects, with responsibility for managing high-profile schemes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and working directly with clients and stakeholders. Typical projects include public realm regeneration, green infrastructure, and sustainable transport / active travel initiatives.
What you will need to succeed as a Principal / Associate Civil Engineer
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered Engineer status (ICE, IEI)
- Significant experience delivering projects in public realm, environmental improvement, or active travel schemes
- Strong project management skills with experience in budget, programme, and resource management
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to support and mentor junior engineers
Desirable:
- Experience working with local authorities and public sector clients in Northern Ireland
- Familiarity with design standards, funding processes, and guidance relevant to public realm and active travel projects
- Knowledge of sustainable and innovative design approaches for urban infrastructure
