Job description

Production Line / Team Lead - Food Manufacturing
Vickerstock is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a leading food manufacturing business to recruit a Production Line / Team Lead for their Newry-based facility.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, expanding manufacturer with a strong market reputation. The role is hands-on within production, supporting your line and serving as a vital link between operators and supervisory/management teams in a fast-paced setting.

What's on offer

  • Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
  • Holidays: 28 days (including 8 statutory days)

Your day to day
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will take responsibility for the smooth running of your assigned production line during shift. You will lead by example on the floor, ensuring standards around safety, quality, and productivity are maintained.

  • Leading and supporting production operatives on your line to meet daily production targets.
  • Ensuring clear communication at shift handovers and throughout the shift.
  • Monitoring output, quality, and waste, escalating issues where required.
  • Making sure all work is carried out in line with health & safety, food safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Working with supervisors, engineering, and technical teams to resolve day-to-day production issues.
  • Supporting basic continuous improvement activities and encouraging good working practices on the line.

Your essential ingredients
We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Team Lead with experience in food manufacturing, ideally within meat or chilled food environments.

  • Experience as a Line Lead, Team Lead, or Senior Operator within a manufacturing environment.
  • A practical understanding of production targets, quality standards, and safe working practices.
  • Awareness of food safety and hygiene requirements (e.g. BRC, HACCP).
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to guide and support colleagues on shift.
  • A flexible, positive attitude and a willingness to get involved on the production floor.
