Job description

Vickerstock are delighted to be working our client dedicated to unleashing the full potential of their customers and team members on the appointment of Production Manager for their Belfast based site.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will have responsibility for a small Production team while planning, directing, and coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for the production in accordance with cost, quality and quantity specifications.

What your typical day will look like:

  • Continually challenge targets for on time delivery, output, quality, waste and other associated KPIs.

  • Responsible for all production, quality, and delivery issues to ensure they are investigated, and an acceptable outcome is reached by working with relevant departments.

  • Lead the daily production meeting, ensuring all points raised are responded to and resolved appropriately.

  • Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and/or efficiency.

  • Conduct or assign employee training in equipment operations, work, and safety procedures as appropriate.

  • Read and analyse charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.

  • Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services as required.

Your essential ingredients:

  • Knowledge of food production & a Food Hygiene certification.

  • 2 - 5 year's experience in a production environment.

  • Excellent leadership skills with ability to manage a variety of cross functional team members.

  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills across a variety of media - verbal, written.

  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.

  • Commercially and financially aware.

  • Good planning, organisational and time management skills.

  • Fundamental understanding of the product and manufacturing development process.

  • Passion for delivering excellent customer service.

  • Good general computer skills including the MS Office suite of tools.

Desirable Criteria

  • Minimum 2 years hands on experience in a management role.

  • Experience working with any production planning software.
